Hello all,
In my cognization,STT is an interface effect, but in Mumax3 it seems that the STT effect is more like a filed effect and have influence on the whole simulation space. So,i am wondering is it appropriate if we chose Mumax3 to simulate a magnetic tunnel junction whose free layer is thicker than 10nm. Hopeing for any discusstion !

Hi,

If it is a thick free layer, you can split your free layer in several layers, define a region for the layers you want to be affected by the STT (maybe one single layer), and apply the current to only that region. The effect will be reduced with respect the case of a thin free layer but this another story.

Best regards,
Felipe
