PowerToys Keyboard Manager must be enabled (with PowerToys running in the background) for remapped keys and shortcuts to be applied. If PowerToys is not running, key remapping will no longer be applied.

For key remapping to work, PowerToys must be running in the background and Keyboard Manager must be enabled. To stop remapped keys, close PowerToys or disable Keyboard Manager in the PowerToys settings.

We suggest that you avoid using Keyboard Manager when playing games as it may affect the game's performance. It will also depend on how the game accesses your keys. Certain keyboard APIs do not work with Keyboard Manager.

Keyboard Manager lists mappings for all known physical keyboard keys. Some of these mappings may not be available on your keyboard as there may not be a physical key that it corresponds to. For instance: the Start App 1 option shown below is only available on keyboards that physically have a Start App 1 key. Trying to map to and from this key on a keyboard that does not support the Start App 1 key will result in undefined behavior.

I'm having a hard time finding and answer to this. If I had to hypotheitcally remove the Windows license key from a VM that's been specifically setup for a partner, and it needs to be removed before the VM is handed over, how would I go about doing this? Naturally the built-in 30 day grace period has expired and I'm using an MSDN license key, but I need to remove the key before handing the VM off. The recipient can input their own license key. e.g. how do I reset the Activation Key Wizard's nagging?

During the resetting process, it is possible that your screen may go black for a long period of time (occasionally upwards of 15 minutes) and that your device may attempt to restart itself during this period. Manually attempting to restart the device yourself during this process could cause the reset to fail. Please be patient!

The CipherTrust Manager has a 'CLI based' System Configuration Utility (kscfg). The "ksadmin" user can remotely access the CipherTrust Manager kscfg utility in a private cloud deployment by accessing the Console, or in a physical appliance deployment, by directly connecting to the appliance's console port and using your ksadmin password.

The change won't take effect until the CipherTrust Manager appliance is rebooted or CipherTrust Manager services are restarted. Run "sudo systemctl restart keysecure" to restart CipherTrust Manager services.

Normally, the REST API or the CLI should be used for performing the reset. This method of performing the reset should be used as a last resort. This operation deletes all backup keys and the HSM configuration. It is good practice to do the following before running this command:

System reset changes the Connector Lock Code for the CipherTrust Manager. After system reset, any license files based on that earlier Connector Lock Code cannot be added. You can restore the earlier Connector Lock Code from a backup, or by adding the reset CipherTrust Manager node into a cluster with the earlier Connector Lock Code. Then, these license files can be added. As well, backup restore and cluster replication include previously installed licenses.

If your computer has a numeric keypad, you can enable the NumPad Commander and assign VoiceOver commands to numpad keys, so you can enter the commands using only the numeric keypad. You can use the Keyboard Commander to assign VoiceOver commands to keyboard keys.

By default, the NumPad Commander has already assigned basic navigation and interaction commands to some keys. The Keyboard Commander has assigned scripts and shortcuts for opening applications to some keys. To use the default key assignments, just enable the Commanders. You can change the defaults or add your own.

Using a modifier key with numpad keys is optional. However, using a modifier key with keyboard keys is required. In the Keyboard Commander pane, select the left or right Option key as the modifier key.

  • Interact with the Commander table and navigate down the key column until you hear the numpad or keyboard key you want to assign a command to.
  • Move to the Command column, open the pop-up menu of commands, and then use the arrow keys to navigate the available commands.
  • When you hear the command you want to assign to the current numpad or keyboard key, press Return to select it.
You can use the Custom Commands menu to assign scripts and Automator workflows to keys. For example, you could run a script (such as a Perl, Ruby, Python, or AppleScript script) when you press a specific key on the keyboard.
