adding new search engines

hi im having a hard time adding new search engines.....treat me as a noob..can anyone guide me and give me an example please? :)

I'm having trouble too. 
I tried to add Amazon.com and it looked like it added it and i go to do a search and it doesn't show up on the right click list. 
Then I go to try adding it again and it acts like it is already added.
Is this a bug or a new problem?
Let me know if you need any more info. .
