Do you need to disconnect the battery and or computer before welding on a vehicle? I have seen some rather lively conversations around this topic on other forums.
But it is valid to raise the question again here for the Multiplaz because in mode 1 there is no arc to the vehicles metal. But is there enough electricity transfer to the metal to be concerned about? Also if using mode 2 I expect the same precautions mentioned about welding with other welders would apply.
Thanks, Robert Taylor

I have welded a trucks door latch back onto the frame and had no electrical problems. Never even crossed my mind but it is something to look into. I would just follow the same precautions as with other arc welders.

Quick job! the paste stuff you see is a product called Heat Fence.
Awesome stuff just apply around work area and things you don't want to burn such as rubber wires etc. Very handy!

Thanks for that Angel :)
I will eventually be rebuilding my rear fenders on my 1996 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I'll try and take some pictures to post when I get to that project.
