No -- it always starts with MD/MMD source text, and can output to HTML,
LaTeX, etc. But not the other direction.
pandoc has the ability to convert HTML to Markdown/MultiMarkdown, but
doesn't cover all features of MMD. For basic stuff, it should be fine.
