xhtml comments don't work

Hello,
i'm using the 6.6.0 version on gentoo linux, if I try to convert a multimarkdown document to latex, everything between "<! -" and "->" is deleted, it should instead be present as "raw output" in the final latex document. How can I solve the problem?
