at-home mom to Philippine president, now a symbol of democracy and
commonly known as the mother of democracy of the Philippines.

The 76-year-old widow, commonly called "Tita Cory, died on Aug. 1,
after a long year figthing with colon cancer.
She also fights to reclaim the democracy of our country from the
previous President Ferdinand Marcos.
She became the public conscience that took down a dictator and his
military without having a war.

But her legacy will be what she did for her people by ending a
dictatorship that use money from the country and for restoring
Philippine democracy. She persevered, despite her distaste for
politics, because she knew how important it was for the Philippines to
again become a free democracy.

"I believe that during these times, we should not forget that many

Indeed. And in order for democracy to function, Filipinos must harness
the love and passion since the day Cory Aquino died. Now, we must give
her a great tribute and honor by making her legacy of democracy work.
