Cory's death is another great loss for the Filipino people.
Do you think her legacy will be remembered in a life time? Explain
your
answer.
Cory was propelled into the political spotlight in 1986, leading
millions of Filipinos in protests against the corrupt regime of
Ferdinand Marcos, who jailed thousands of dissidents during his brutal
20-year regime.
The death of our former iconic president Cory Aquino was really a
great loss. She will forever be regarded as a symbol of democracy in
the Philippines. Her grace under pressure attitude during her term was
also commendable as she handled all the uprising and the criticisms
with dignity. The original People Power will always be synonymous with
her.
Her courage, determination, and moral leadership are an inspiration to
us all and exemplify the best in the Filipino nation. She helped bring
democracy back to the Philippines after many years of authoritarian
rule with a faith in her country and its people that never wavered.
The country will forever be grateful for the sacrifices she and her
husband, Ninoy, have offered in response to the dream and challenge
that our country is worth dying for.
Her tireless devotion to peace, stability and democracy for the people
of the Republic of the Philippines is well recognized throughout the
world and will always be remembered and cherished by all of us with
admiration and respect.
