It has been a long time since President Cory Aquino fought for justice
with the Filipino through the People Power I, and many things have
changed starting then. Tita Cory is the "Mother of Democracy" who
replaced Dictatorial with Democracy.
She has been such a figure in the Filipino society because of what
she has given us. She has granted us freedom in every aspect in life.
During those times, the people are very thankful that they have tita
Cory who will
listen to their problems, who will help them through difficult times,
and who will fight with them until the end. She never left the
Filipinos alone. And now that the fight was finally over, she had bid
goodbye to us. Seeing that
her people is ready to move on and stand up for themselves again, she
descended with a smile in her heart. She has been such a great model
for all of us. Tita Cory has been a total loss for all Filipinos!
Nonetheless, our memories about her
will always be remembered. Her life will never be forgotten and will
be retold to the next generations. Her legacy will never be lost in
our hearts, thoughts, and actions.

August 1, 2009, 3:18 a.m. in the morning when the news about our
former President Corazon Aquino was heard over the radio and
television. The news was about the death of the former President.
According to her eldest daughter, before dying the last word that was
heard from their mother was "family." Her children shared thoughts of
their mother over the television. As what we've seen in the past few
days before she died, most of us joined the prayer activities for her
survival. In this case, we have seen how much they love Cory. Cory's
death is another great loss for Filipino. And I'm sure that her
legacy
will be rembered in a lifetime even if she's not here now, because of
the good things that she done here in land not only in the
Philippines
will engraved in the heart of majority.

Being a leader to a very populated country and at the same time being
a mother to her children is very hard to obtain. But, President Cory
Aquino do that thing in a very successful ways. And for tht her legacy
will always be remember to all pilipino people.
She always think what best for our country and do many things to
improve our country. And thinking the song written by the former
President Benigno Aquino Jr. for his wife Cory Aquino, you will know
how a great lady Cory Aquino was.Based on the title, I've Fallen In
Love For the Same Woman (three times) meaning to say, Cory is very
efficient and loving wife and mother. And the most important thing
that people cannot forget about Cory Aquino was her saying "It is
better to live a meaningful life; than die, with a meaningful death".
For me that means living your life to the fullest, because we only
have one life and we don't have to waste it. Cause, we cannot back the
time that past through. Do everything that you think was good not only
for you instead for all the people's sake. That was President Cory
Aquino's legacy that we cannot forget en a lifetime.

Of course! Many Filipino people are longing after our former
President Corazon Aquino died, including her family, co-politician,
leaders, and all Filipino citizens. She has become a good wife to her
husband and a good mother to her children.
In times of her administration(1986-1992), she has made reforms
to reorganize our politics, economy, and the livelihood aspects. The
government has sold different corporations which were called the non-
performing assets to the private sector. Privatization is the center
of her reform. She has also imposed the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform
Program (CARP) to help farmers and agriculturist through Republic Act
6657.
To continue, she has also made to declare the first People
Revolution in which many Filipinos were benefited. Cory Aquino, the
Mother of Democracy, will be remembered of almost all people in the
Philippines.
Searching the history of her legacy, she hasn't made bad records.
Otherwise, Pres. Cory Aquino, who was the first women president in our
country, has made to transform the dictatorial government to a
democratic one. A lady uses her power and rights to be against the
government of Ferdinand Marcos.
What a great and heroic deed?

For me,of course yes. President Corazon Aquino's legacy will be
remembered by the people. Not only in terms of being a good president
but also for being a model , a good mother, and an icon. During the
time of Marshall Law, people encourages cory to run for the precsency
in our country and because of the so called "people power", she became
the president of our country. Being a leader of our country makes her
the became the Queen Of Democracy. Being with her people, cory got the
sympathy of the Filipino people. She has been loved and appreciated
by 5the people around her. Thus, her legacy will be remembered for a
lifetime even though she already died.

Having been the first woman president of the Republic of the
Philippines, she,Maria Corazon "Cory" Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino was
able to ran the philippine economy with so much passion because of her
strong personality and honest objectives. She had been the "Icon of
the Philippone Democracy" serving from 1986 to 1992. She was very
loyal, simple yet generous Filipina.
She was married to Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr.a leading figure in the
political opposition against the autocratic rule of President
Ferdinand Marcos. After her husband was assassinated upon his return
from exile in the United States on August 21, 1983, Aquino, who had no
prior political experience, became a focal point and unifying force of
the opposition against Marcos. She was drafted to run against Marcos
in the 1986 snap presidential elections. After Marcos was proclaimed
the winner despite widespread reports of electoral fraud, Aquino was
installed as President by the peaceful 1986 People Power Revolution.
Aquino's presidency saw the restoration of democratic institutions in
the Philippines, through the enactment of a new Constitution which
limited the powers of the presidency, restored the bicameral Congress,
and renewed emphasis on civil liberties. That's why her legacy will be
remembered for a lifetime.

brave woman who can adjust to different situation. She was really a
fighter and this was shown when she had a career. She fought for the

We have lost a great Filipino leader. She deserves to be
respected and honored for restoring democracy and we are all blessed
with having Mrs. Aquino who had the courage and will to fight in the

Cory! Cory! Cory! Cory! Cory! Cory! Cory!

Those were the words which I remembered my childhood friends and I
were hailing or shouting when the train passed along a military camp,
a place in Gumaca, Quezon where I spend almost a decade of my young
days. My father was then a soldier and I once heard from him the good
old days of the post-martial law era where the new president Cory
stunned the Filipinos and the whole wide world in celebration of the
Filipino's People Power Revolution.

Of course, Cory will not be Cory without Ninoy. Hence, we celebrate
Ninoy and Cory's greatest feats for the people, let us cherish and
renew our spirits as resilient lovers of democracy amidst these tough

After the death of Michael Jackson, that was considered as a great
lost in the music industy, now the death of President Corazon Aquino
is also considered as a great lost in the Pilippines. She can be
considered as a hero, for all the things she'd done. She's the one
who started the in our country and it freed all of the Filipino from
the ruling of President Marcos. She must be included in the history of
the Philippines, for a woman who was considered as the mother of our
country. And Filipino people don't leave her, when she fight her
disease but unfortunately she didn't make it. And now that she's gone
the faith of the Filpino became strong, and there become the unity of

However, we should only not know its definition but its essence to

Here are the modern technologies such as cellular phones, internet,

citizens. They help them to communicate to their neighbors and
relatives away from them. Therefore, it is necessary to appreciate and
use them properly.
Moreover, the term "Information Age" is often applied in relation to
the use of cell phones, digital music, high definition television,
digital cameras, the Internet, computer games, and other relatively
new products and services that have come into widespread use.
Some of these gadgets bring harmful effects to students. That is why,
parents must first guide their children to introduce them properly the

The death of our first woman President Corazon Aquino left marks on
our hearts that will surely made her death be remembered throughout
the Philippine history. She did more than any ordinary Filipino can.
From a silent mother to her five siblings and a simple loving wife to
Senator Benigno Aquino, a lady of justice arose from her as she became
the mother of Democracy. Her braveness and strength together with her
faith in God, she withstands the power of the former President
Ferdinand Marcos and fought for our freedom. From a dictatorial
country, we became a democratic one due to the so called “People Power
I” led by Tita Cory. This became remarkable to the Philippine History
because of the participation and willingness of thousands of Filipino
who had their same intentions; the surrendering of the position by the
cruel ruler. This contributed a lot to the betterment of our country.
She brought the change to our nation. Her presence, her deeds, her
heroism will surely remain in our hearts and up to the next

Mrs. Aquino was a great loss for the Filipino people because
she returned democracy from the previous administration of Marcos. She
also returned some of the wealth of the Marcos Family that are
originally from the Philippine Republic. And being sure that the name

Yes. Because she was the first woman to be the president of the

husband Benigno Ninoy Aquino Jr. Cory loss to Marcos, they said
Marcos cheated. Then, the people power 1 occurred.

They called Cory so there will be a new President. Cory had brought
back the democracy in the Philippines. She made comprehensive agrarian
program or CARP, she has helped many Filipino farmers. And also many
things in the Philippines. During Aquino's administration, private
government assets were sold open to the public. Being faithful to the
country, she stepped down from his position as the President and
didn't even bother to continue her term. So I'm sure, her legacy will

“It is very sad and we condole with the family of former President
Aquino. She is a great loss to country and democracy,” Rodriguez said.
Being known to be the wife of Ninoy Aquino and the mother of a great
Actress Kris Aquino, Cory is not a loss to the country. The mother of
democracy, the one who brought back the voices of the people by
bringing back the democracy from the administration of Marcos.

Loss. yes but not quite. She's not by our side physically but on a
wider and broader view, she left us this legacy which should serve as
a solid or concrete example to everybody. Death only signifies that we
possess a soul, that we accomplished the things that we wished for and
dare to step in front of God to swear the sins that we imprint on the
heart and mind of the ones we touched. A mother of democracy, she
contributed a lot of things. Stepping down from her presidency, she
didn't even have a doubt about running again for another term. She
kindly smiled during her last State Of The Nation Address or much
known as SONA that she did enough and it's time for her to give
another chance for those who also dreamed of leading the nation.

I can say that President Cory's contribution as the mother of
Philippine Democracy is truly immeasurable, and was enough for us to
remember her for a lifetime.Imagine how she and her late
husband,Senator Ninoy Aquino, did and have sarcrificed even their lives
in order to achieve the total freedom that we have now from the
dictatorial leadership of Ferdinand Marcos. Since the day the people
saw the "laban" sign, yellow ribbons and shirts on the street on
1980's,they used to see light from the dimmest part of their lives.
Due to president Cory's courage,after Ninoy's planned
assassination, she had continued his (Ninoy's) belief of fighting for
the sake of the her beloved country. It was like a wild fire that ran
through and spreaded out when the thoughts of every filipinoes was
awaken. Since then, a revolution or what we called "People Power" was
born, that made the Filipinoes to unite and drive Marcos from his
dictatorial government.
Having no political experience, for her,had never became a hidrance to
pursue with her aims.Because of the snap election made between her and
President Marcos in 1986,we can see how the filipino people reunited
to achieve one goal, freedom. She had won the presidential election and
stood up in front of her people, with a great passion of giving them
the democracy that every Filipino has been wishing for since then.
Starting a new form of government for her was not easy, yet she
remained standing even of seven-time coup de tats that she had
experienced. She ended her term peacefully leaving her country a great
legacy.
Until next generations, her memories and everything that she did for us
filipinoes will remain.
I can only say thank you president Cory, for giving us the opportunity
to live in a democratic and free country.
I will forever salute you......

President Corazon Aquino will surely leave an imprint on Philippine
history as the "Mother of True Democracy" after being an instrument on
the ouster of former President Ferdinand Marcos. She fought the
tyranny of Marcosian rule with the tenderness of a mother's heart
thereby proving to the entire world that Filipinos can combat
dictatorship peacefully. She also filled the void for national
leadership left to her during the renaissance of democracy in our
country. As the new president, she had proven herself as an effective
leader and political figure during those difficult times by surviving
various attempts to seize power. Mrs. Aquino had implemented various
programs and laws which are still beneficial to our country up to now.
To top all of these, Cory Aquino will be best remembered by everyone
through the values she had imparted to us: love of God, love of
country, love of family, courage and perseverance and faith.
Kudos for all that she had done for us!

What is the essence of being a Filipino in this Information
(internet) age?

Being a Filipino is like being someone who is famous, great and
adorable. And, let me remind you that Filipinos are being recognized
as "professional imitators"! Why do I include the thought of being
great imitators? It is because as time passes, and technologies
improves, Filipinos would not accept the thought that they would be
left behind. The fact remains there, because of this attitude of the
Filipinos, we are now a rising economy. We adopt to the information
age, and because of that, we are becoming more fund of using and
riding the flow of this time. We are now one of the greatest known
country in the whole wide world, and that is what we Filipinos must be
proud of. "Being imitators, I can say is one of the best."

=>Cory's death is another great loss for the Filipino people.
Do you think her legacy will be remembered in a life time?

=>Maria Corazon "Cory" Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino known as the 11th
President of the Philippines and the "Icon of Philippine Democracy",
serving from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female president of the
Philippines and the first female president of any country in Asia.
She proclaimed herself as a "plain housewife", when she was married
to
Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. a leading figure in the political
opposition against the autocratic rule of President Ferdinand Marcos.
After her husband was assassinated upon his return from exile in the
United States on August 21, 1983, Aquino, who had no prior political
experience, became a focal point and unifying force of the opposition
against Marcos. She was drafted to run against Marcos in the 1986
snap
presidential elections. After Marcos was proclaimed the winner
despite
widespread reports of electoral fraud, Aquino was installed as
President by the peaceful 1986 People Power Revolution. And she
continue her husband will in the name of democracy.

=>Even though many critics would say Cory was a weak president but
she was our transition president towards democracy. At least the
rebirth of our democracy was the legacy left behind by Former
President Cory Aquino and People Power. The transition from the
brutal
Marcos dictatorship wouldn’t have been possible without a Cory who
ensured a peaceful handover of power at the end of her term and who
didn’t ambition to lift term limits.

=>Her death saddens us all but does not diminish our continuing
struggle to protect democracy from the evil plots of those in power.

=>Thank you for everything, Former President Cory Aquino. I do hope
that her legacy will be remembered forever.

=>The essence of being a filipino today in this internet age is really
a good part in our life. having advance technologies such as
computers, music players etc. and especially having internet. Today in
our studies we don't need lots of books or go to libraries to
reasearch for the assignments or activities involving researching,
because today internet is here to help us. Internet is an incalculable
tool for research. It is a network of thousands of computers across
the world. It has multigigabytes free information for us, thats why it
is easy to research in internet.
=>In internet, uses are not only for researching but also for
socialization, gamies, and expressing your feelings or freedom. In
socialization, there are websites that you can find friends all over
the world. You can send them mails, pictures in instant. In gaming you
will experience fun you will also meet friends online competing each
other. And in expressing your feelings you can make your own blog or
website in internet in which you put your own info. your likes, your
hobby, and also your feelings. You can start a discussion or make a
forum and you can ask question which will be answered by the people
using internet in the world. Internet age is really a good part of my
life because of easier researching and also having friends not only in
our school of community but also in the world using internet.

Yes, of course because she is a first woman who's being elected as a
President of the Philippines. She has a husband who became a hero of
the nation. Husband, Ninoy Aquino is a senator who bravely fight
against the government. He chose the people to run for president.
Because he is intelligent, rich and have a courage to face dictator
Ferdinand Marcos. But president Marcos didn't like the people's
choice. President Marcos do such bad things for Ninoy he put Ninoy
into jail or he arrested him former President Cory Aquino continue to
fight against the government, the people of the Philippines protest
the government and the people power had begun. After people power,
Marcos and his wife left the country and they live in Hawaii. The
Republic of Philippines is Free again. And Cory has became a heroine.

It seems that everyone has something to say about our late president
Cory Aquino. However, the information which served as the basis of our
posts are from secondary sources. Could you please share some of your
other experiences during the time of President Aquino? I believe that
it would be beneficial for us on visualizing the real events from
those time. We would also appreciate a few good stories from "an eye
witness" like you sir. Thank you and more power! (Energize!)

name, Corazon Aquino will written in the book of Pilippine history.
She will also be remembered by the Filipino people because of the

Hmm, I agree with Jilo that primary information from an eye
witness would be beneficial. Maybe teacher Rey can give us some
(hehe). Nevertheless, what do we have to know? Almost all things about
Mrs. Cory Aquino has been posted in the internet and it is just one
click away! Former president Cory Aquino has been a loving and caring
mother who always listened to and loved her people. Though she
encountered a lot of problems during her administration, she never
gave up her presidency. I really admire her. She is one of a million!
I overheard from other people that Cory should be one of our
great heroes, just like her husband. After all of what she has done
for our country, I think she is qualified. Do you agree?

We all know that Cory Aquino’s presidency was notable for
consolidating Philippine Democracy. As what President Gloria-Macapagal
Arroyo administration now try to shove – the Constitutional Assembly,
Aquino wrote and passed a new constitution. Aquino’s victory is
rightly viewed by most Filipinos as a victory for Philippine
democracy, despite some lingering constitutional about what the
Philippine really is. Her government is committed to economic reform
within a strengthened free enterprise framework. Now we know how Pres.
Aquino makes a better country for all of us, so how should we forget
the legacy of her? I have so many questions that internet or some
technologies can't answer.. like thinking, what should be our life
today or of the new generation if we are not a democratic country.
whuish! I can,t imagine everything. when you walk, you can see a
brutality between a rich man and a poor one. how should everything be
manageable if there's no a real and a very owned president.
Until in the end of her life, she always wanted a good life for every
Filipino. She's a "Mother of all".
Her legacy will never be lost in every existence of everyone of us

She was the first Filipina president. She also was a
devoted christian,a loving wife and a friend.But most of all,she was a

Hers and Ninoy Aquino's legacy was a part of the
Philippine history.Their victory against Marcos' false administration
was all over the books long before I was born. They fought for our
freedom. They sacrificed their own lives to gain democracy. She loved
our country and she proved it.She lead the Filipino communty in unity.
She wasn't just a good president.Cory was a very brave
woman with a very big heart. She was an inspiration for every filipino
to fight for what thy believe in.She was idolized by many and loved by
most. Her death won't chane a thing because she will always be in our

Will her (Cory) death usher reconciliation (even temporary) to all
parties (government or opposition) despite the rejection of Kris
Aquino to a State Funeral sponsored by Malacanang?

I think so! I believe that Cory's death do usher a temporary
reconciliation to different parties. Why do I say so? It is because as
we all witnessed, during her funeral, manykinds of personalities
mourned. There came the artists, the businessmen, business thycoons,
and even politicians that belong to oppositional groups. And they went
there not to get attention, not to gain appraisal and not to fight but
rather to unite having a particular goal... Because they aim to give
their condolences to the family left and say their final goodbye to
the beloved former President Corazon Aquino. Even us, the normal and
particular people lended some time just to share the unforgettable
moment in the Philippine history. The lost of a person who showed a
heroic act during her stay in the earth's crust as she established a
new Philippines having democracy. I can say that someone like her can
truly bring reconciliation not only betwen governmental and
oppositional parties but also with people living in within the scope
of the Philippine theretory.

Showing former President Corazon Aquino's goodwill towards her people
is a great choice. The way you described her is pleasurable enough to
make me realize more her contributions to the Philippine economy and
history. Thank you.

For all the presidents that lead us, Cory Aquino seems to be the most
beneficial administration. She opposed military government, spread
peace and unity, proclaim democracy, become a good economist, and many
more. That's why we can't forget her for a lifetime.

You are right. She is not only a good president but also a good
disciple of God. And that made a good leader. Yes, prayer helps her to
lead us because God is present.
Such that He only knows what is good for our country, for our world.

Cory's death is another great loss for the Filipino people. Do you
think her legacy will be remembered in a life time? Explain your
answer.

Of couse, President Cory Aquino had a major role in our society. just
imagine what could have happened if she haven't fight for our
demorcracy which made her our "mother of democracy".

Despite of all the hindrances she encountered, she still manage it to
become a good wife to her late husband and mother to her childeren
even to us. She had conquered every barriers and difficulties she
meet. She handled all the trials given to her including her as a
leader of the people power and several coup d'etats. And who could
ever imagine that a simple tita Cory will be the first female
president of the Philippines and will change the Philippine
constitution.

But, after all, as we all know nothing is permanent in this world even
us. whoever you are...whatever you have made...your life is still
borrowed and there will come a time where you have to return it to the
One who lend it to you. The tiome of tita Cory had come but although
her body will not remain, I believe that she is always watching our
country and her legacy will remain to everyone of us.
