Join Tomorrow's Protest for the release (?) of the Jena Six

a march likening to the days of Martin Luther King as thousands are
expected from colleges and towns all around, Including Jesse Jackson,
Martin Luther King III (sp), and Al Sharpton. Also, Rock legend David
Bowie has donated $10,000 to the defence fund of the Jena Six. The
flashpoint is the trial of five African American youth who along with
another juvenile beat a white youth to the point where he needed
hospital treatment after an incident going back to the "white tree"
over a year ago.
The act pf racism which ignited this stage of the protest, which has
been going on for some time now as one youth was already tried and
subsequently had his conviction thrown out by an appellate court due
to public outcry, is not whether punishment should be meted out,
rather, that the DA is seeking an attempted murder charge for what
some are calling a "school yard" dispute. Yet another incident of
excessive punishment for black men/youth.

My son's interracial school here in San Francisco, LIck-Wilmderding
High School, is joining the protest by wearing all black and having
discussions in their advising groups school wide.

Here's a followup link to a transcript of conversations in Jena by a
reporter, turns out the time in jail for the six has been 7 months,
and the blatant racism from the DA to the community is pretty
outrageous,
