Hi,

I am very interested in this implementation of MCAPI because it is
more suitable for adding this service to an embedded hypervisor that
Mentor's one.

But I have problems to compile it.
I just try to follow the README document I have found in the MCAPI
folder but I can't find the autogen.sh script and when I try with the
one that is available on Ubuntu's repository the configuration options
for cross compilation (--host= and --build= ...) are not allowed.
There are many scripts on the rca-2.0.1 folder but I can't find what
script I should run to generate the Makefiles with cross compilation
options.

If you could tell me how to generate the Makefiles I would appreciate
it.

Thanks,

Denis

Hi Denis,

Instead of autogen.sh just run configure. I'll update the README.

thanks,
Michele

Hi Denis, what's the problem you've found with OpenMCAPI?

The only problem I have with openMCAPI is that it is built to run above an OS and I want to have an API that can function without any help of an OS. My goal is to add it on an baremetal hypervisor.

OpenMCAPI has small and well-defined porting layers. Are you sure you
can't provide hooks for those interfaces? If so, which ones are problematic?

Denis,

Just to be clear, the API itself does not require an OS.

The reference implementation that you downloaded uses an OS in it's
transport/layer.

To the best of my knowledge there is not yet an open-source
implementation that runs bare-metal.

What is the difference between MCAPI and OpenMCAPI?

MCAPI is a specification, and OpenMCAPI is one implementation of that
specification.
