Hi Andrew,

If there are 4 cameras that should be able to see a fly based on where it is in 3D, but only 3 cameras detect the fly because of lighting and other issues, does the camera that doesn't see the fly affect the estimate at all, or does it just get ignored?

I ask because we are having a tough time calibrating our camera array on our new big wind tunnel (14 cameras). To get the calibration to converge it seems like we need to have two cameras that view the whole volume (we have gotten some good calibrations that way). But, because these cameras are zoomed out, it's unlikely they will detect flies. So my question is: is it safe to leave these cameras in the braid tracking array, or should I remove them from the toml after we have used them to get a calibration?

Thanks!

Hi Floris,

Absence of evidence is not interpreted as evidence of absence, so you should be able to keep all cameras present in the array.

Best,
Andrew
