I'm currently having an issue where braid crashes whenever I enable the checkerboard calibration and begin to move my checkerboard throughout the camera volume.

This happens if I only launch a single camera in an instance of braid at a time, even if I down the frame rate of the camera to 5 fps and tracking is otherwise disabled.  We get a pop up error that freezes the braid instance and in the terminal :

"strand_cam: Channel full sending frame to process thread. Dropping frame data."

Which seems unusual for just running one camera at 5 fps

We're using Basler Ace2 cameras and running and running everything on Ubuntu 20.04

Any advice or work arounds are greatly appreciated.

David

I should add that tracking LED's with our setup works phenomenally and it's only an issue with the checkerboard calibration specifically.

Hi David, I just saw your message now.

I have the same issue with Braid + Basler Ace2 cameras + Ubuntu 20.04. I couldn't find a direct solution — instead, I am performing the intrinsic calibration externally using ROS camera calibration (http://wiki.ros.org/camera_calibration/Tutorials/MonocularCalibration) with the Basler ROS camera driver (https://github.com/basler/pylon-ros-camera).
It works great and also gives some feedback regarding the calibration quality. I don't have time now, but I can write a quick tutorial tomorrow if it could help.
