Hi all. I just ran into a new problem recently with my follower. I have been travelling with Lydia for quite some time now with no issue. Now all of a sudden she moves incredibly fast to keep up with me. I can sprint with a horse across the plains, and by the time I dismount, she has run right up to me. Not only that, but in combat she will charge into battle in almost an instant.

This was not the case before. I had suspected maybe letting her ride my second horse was the issue, but she has been using that horse for some while now without running into this issue. I tried changing the horse ownership to just me, and it did not resolve the issue. I also have tried dismissing Lydia, and grabbing a different follower, but that follower is still ridiculously fast.

I have a line following differential drive robot with a PID control. I successfully tuned (try and error) the P,I,D constants for a good stability in low speeds, but when I increase the speed, everything goes sideways.

The current idea is that the input signal goes to the voltage divider (0 to 3V), and then goes to the voltage follower. The output of the voltage followers goes to the comparator (one connects to + directly, another goes to LPF, and then goes to - of op-amp). Actually, I tried to use TLV 70328 and TLV3502 as voltage follower. But it didn't work. So I am going to try with buffer ICs.

In single keratocyte motility, membrane tension is reported to be high at cell-fronts and believed to establish front coherence. To understand role of membrane mechanics in collective cell migration, we study membrane height fluctuations in cell sheets from fish scales using interference reflection microscopy (IRM). We report the monolayer to have cells lacking substrate adhesion and show that such 'non-sticky' cells can form bridges between leader cells and far-away follower cells. Do such interactions alter motility and membrane mechanics in such leaders? We find non-significant, but reduced speed for leaders with 'non-sticky' followers in comparison to other leaders. Cells show high phenotypic variability in their membrane fluctuation tension profiles. On average, this tension is found to be lower at cell fronts than the mid-section. However, leaders with non-sticky followers are more prone to display higher tension at their front and have a negative correlation between cell speed and front-mid tension difference. Thus, we conclude that intracellular tension gradients are heterogeneous in cell sheets and substrate adhesivity of followers can control the coupling of the gradient to cell speed.

The nice thing about the source follower is that the voltage at the source follows the voltage on the gate. The MOSFET actively works to maintain the source voltage at (or at least, close to) the gate voltage.

A two drive Leader/Follower system is the simplest form of follower implementation. By using a tachometer or similar device mounted on the leader motor or machine section to supply the speed reference to a follower drive, any changes in the leader speed will be reflected in the follower drive.

First, because any regulation errors by individual drives would be cumulative, multiple steps of cascading may produce more accumulated error than the process can tolerate. For example; in the three drive system described above, assume 0.5% regulation error in the two follower drives for a 1% total system error.

When a tachometer or encoder on each drive is used for both Feedback to the leader drive and Reference to the follower drive, an ISOLATION function may be required to maintain isolation between each section. Refer to Section B for discussion about Isolation.

Cascaded followers require careful set-up. For best results, limit the range of the TRIM functions for either dancer or operator control to the minimum acceptable percentage effect. This is easily adjusted by a TRIM RANGE setting on many CAROTRON interface products and will aid setup and add to system stability.

All Carotron PID function controls include some unique functions utilizing SCALING INPUT and SUMMING INPUT. These inputs provide ease in combining an optimized PID correction signal with a primary reference signal and even ranging the effect of the correction by the primary reference. For example: a dancer position correction may be scaled to provide + 10% speed trim when a line is operated at 100% speed but, when the line runs at 10% speed, the same dancer trim equates to 100% trim! In other words, the dancer trim range % (and sensitivity) increases as line speed decreases. This can mean different dancer response and stability at different line speeds. Use of the SCALINGSET speed is maintained. function will range the correction signal so that a constant percentage of

This scheme can be used to follow or allow control by a low level voltage signal whose source is too remote to allow the use of a standard voltage follower. Typically, voltage signals are fed into high input impedance circuits to prevent excess loading and distortion of the signal. When long wire runs are used to carry these signals, several problems can occur.

In a Master Reference application, a primary control signal such as a master pot., tachometer, process signal or frequency signal is used to control the speed of two or more motors. The start-up delays associated with the cascade follower systems are effectively eliminated since the individual motor drives receive start-up commands and reference signals at the same time while remaining electrically isolated from each other and the source of reference.

Master Reference control is also appropriate for non-web applications such as metering pumps or feeder controls where precise mix percentages must be adjustable and maintained over the system speed range. Figure E.10 illustrates shows the Master Reference control being used to regulate speed and mix ratios for the contents of asphalt in a hot mix plant application. Here the manually set speed ratios are maintained over the plant operating speed range.

For Greater Rift pushing we recommend this Templar setup for the sustain from Heal, 10% increased damage from Onslaught, and the very powerful cheat death mechanic from Guardian. This is the only follower build that stacks Cooldown Reduction because it works with Heal. Since we take the immortality relic, we do not need any survivability stats.

Followers are an important part of the Diablo III meta, but their properoptimization is often undervalued. Following the guidelines below, you can takeyour follower performance to a new level, and you will definitely notice theimprovement in your soloGreater Rift Pushing attempts andNephalem Rift speed farming.

With a massive rework in Patch 2.7 (Season 23), followersare now fully fledged characters with some interesting limitations andconstraints, as well as some incredibly valuable boons that are transferable tothe player character. They now possess the same 13 item slots as the playercharacter does, plus an additional 14th slot for the follower-specific items(i.e. Enchanting Favor, Smoking Thurible, Skeleton Key).Their skills were also majorly revised in Patch 2.7 to better reflect thecurrent state of the solo metagame, with an overall significant strengthening inthe followers' contribution during solo play. There are several follower basicprinciples you need to keep in mind, irrespective of your choice ofcompanion.

One thing that has not changed when it comes to the general philosophy ofusing and gearing a follower is that trying to make them into a damage dealer isa futile exercise; your efforts are much better spent at improving the followerfor the utility and defense he or she can provide to your character instead. Thefollowing guide takes this into account and will only strive to improve thefollower characters in those areas, depending on the content you are trying toclear.

As discussed above, the Templar is currently considered the weakest of thethree followers and should only be considered for fragile builds, charactersthat are just starting out and are low on survivability, or perhaps foradditional safety in Hardcore play. The setup below assumes you are taking theTemplar for Greater Rift solo progression purposes, as his thoroughly defensivepowers are objectively useless in standard rift farming for keys or Greater Riftspeed farming. While the rest of his kit is somewhat flexible, his arguablystrongest skill is the Heal, which scales with CDR.

The Enchantress is the most versatile of the bunch, offering a balancebetween utility and damage buffs, and offering some excellent speed farmingpotential when she is fully optimized. Take the Enchantress to GR progressionif you are chasing cooldown reduction or attack speed breakpoints, as she makesboth tasks easier, or if you want to have a thoroughly utility-driven characterwhen farming GRs or keystones. The highlight of Enchantress abilities is her Prophetic Harmony, which is a tremendous boon for any CDR-heavybuild.

When gearing your follower, you have to make a conscious choice betweenutility and damage oriented gear. While it can be tempting to focus on theirdamage potential (however limited), it is highly recommended that you focus ontheir crowd control and protective capabilities.

Stat-wise, it is crucially important that you reach the 25,000 mainstat pointon your follower to maximize the benefits of his or her mainstat-scalingabilities. This should be quite doable even without item augmentations, becausefollowers have an innate 2.5x multiplier to their mainstat, and all theirsockets (including jewelry, since Legendary Gems do not work on Followers) willbe filled with standard mainstat gems. Augmentations can still be considered tofully optimize your follower (most likely Enchantress) for speed farming, sinceyou have an incentive to drop the invulnerability follower item at some point ofoptimization and go for the "all abilities" unlock one. Note that when yourmainstat differs from your follower's (i.e. you are a Barbarian, but are usingan Enchantress), simply reroll the pieces at the Mystic and craft your necessaryitems with a mainstat-appropriate alt.
