Hello, Wylde Plot Holders!
We are looking for up to 4 volunteers to help us with a very special project.
Way back in '96-97' as the Wylde Center was being conceived, our co-founder Louise Jackson worked with Sally Wylde to teach a group of rambunctious kids who had been trampling Ms. Jackson's plants the joy and value of gardening. This act ultimately led to the foundation of the of organization. That space has been preserved as a little garden in the median of Oakview Road near Fourth Avenue.
After some years of neglect, my team and I were able to give it a major renovation last fall and it is looking amazing. That said, we are stretched too thin at our main sites to continue tending it regularly, so we're hoping that a couple plot holders would be interested in helping us with that.
The commitment would only be a couple hours a month per person max, and would mainly involve weeding and putting down a little fresh mulch. This time would of course go toward your required 10 hours of volunteer service.
If you are interested in this, and in light of my imminent departure, please reach out to
Kri...@wyldecenter.org so she can get you set up.
Thanks!
