Hello, Mulberry Fields Folks.

Some of you may have already heard that we will no longer be able to use the back gate at Mulberry Fields, the one that connects to the business facing Dekalb Ave. That business, EcoTerra, has notified us that they are locking the gate and no longer allowing us to cross their property as the result of what I only know to call a misunderstanding regarding our former arrangement for wood chip drops.

Long story short, they were always difficult and often unreasonable about the slightest bit of chips on the asphalt for more than a day, even though MF gardeners were always excellent about cleanup on short notice. In late December, I received a text from their administrative assistant asking that we clean up a pile of leaves that, of course, wasn't even ours. It can only be deduced that it was left by their own yard service. I explained this to the administrative assistant, and decided at that time to begin seeking other arrangements. That was the last interaction that was had with the company (that I am aware of) until a MF gardener had a face-to-face encounter with the owner of the business Tuesday. They also issued a letter to Wylde Center explaining the above, which arrived Wednesday.

It is unfortunate, but my feeling is that the best thing to do is move on and accept the loss of access from that side. Since hers is the only contact information I have, I sent a concise response to the administrative assistant letting her know that WC received the letter, again explained that I had already decided to make other arrangements and why, and thanking her for her patience and kindness as the one caught in the middle. She was always nice.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions. Joy is going to hang a sign on the gate for gardeners and visitors.

Thank you
