Let The People Vote:Cop City Referendum Campaign Q&A in Mulberry Fields

Dear Neighbors and. Friends,

Atlanta has made national and international headlines regarding the potential construction of a $90 million, highly controversial police training facility, commonly known as Cop City. After a rushed and heated Atlanta City Council vote, concerned residents have launched a referendum campaign to put Cop City on the ballot this November. Yesterday a federal judge ruled against the City suit to stop this effort . This allows more time to get signatures and  for affected Dekalb residents to participate in the signature effort. This coalition is half way to its goal.

Bring your questions and join your neighbors for a primer on Cop City and the referendum campaign underway to let the Atlanta residents decide where and how their tax dollars should be spent when it comes to public safety.

This is a great opportunity to get our questions answered about the history and future of this 381 acre urban tree cover also known as the Weelaunee Forest.

There will be food, music, childcare, petitions, and a panel of speakers to address questions about the referendum and how Cop City affects us all.
