Can a mugshot be removed if the case was not expunged, sealed or dismissed?

What is the process to remove an old mugshot and arrest record from a conviction that took place nearly a decade ago?

Thank you for your time.

No—an expungement or proof that the record has been sealed is not always required to remove a mugshot or arrest record from privately operated websites like Mugshots Zone, and search results.

Third-party data removal services such as Remove-Arrests.org, RemoveOnlineInformation.com, and Defamation Defenders may be able to work directly with the website, publisher, hosting provider, and/or search engine to remove or deindex the content—even when the underlying court record has not been expunged.

However, online content removal is different from expungement. It does not erase or seal the official record held by a court, law-enforcement agency, or government database. Whether removal is possible depends on the website, where the information originated, and the facts of the individual case.
