When will Mugshot be able to use Firefox 3.0's login credentials? I'm
a packager of mugshot for openSUSE, and it works fine when firefox 2
has the credentials, but not with firefox 3.

We currently build against xulrunner 1.8.1 on both. If Mugshot is
compatible with Firefox 3 already, I can switch to xulrunner 1.9.0 for
the openSUSE Factory build.

Compatibility with Gecko-1.9 is actually a separate issue from the
ability to read Firefox 3 cookies. That being said:

Mugshot-1.1.90 (still a bit alpha, requires separate
desktop-data-model daemon)

- Is compatible with Gecko-1.8 and 1.9 (but not both at once ...
you need to compile against one or the other, and the resulting
version of the Mugshot Firefox extension will likely only
work with that version of Gecko)

- Can read Firefox 3.0 cookies

(To be precise, the Firefox cookie reading is part of the
desktop-data-model daemon after the split)

Mugshot-1.1.58:

- Is only compatible with Gecko-1.8
- Cannot read Firefox 3.0 cookies

I'm not sure we have tarballs of 1.1.90 other than the ones inside the
Fedora rawhide packages; the desktop-data-model tarballs are on
ftp.gnome.org.

That's alright for now. Hopefully tarballs get released soon!

So I can continue building against Gecko 1.8.1 on opensuse 10.3 and
build against Gecko 1.9 on opensuse factory? Sweet!

Thanks. I noticed ddm was packaged with mugshot 1.1.58 directly,
thought it was a bit weird.

Thanks! I'll stick with 1.1.58 for now, and upgrade to the fx3 one
once official tarballs are released. Thanks for an amazing piece of
work. I know quite a few openSUSE'ers who love it!
