Remove Mugshot Content from Search results

I have read the FAQs and checked for similar issues:

My site's URL (web address) is:

I am trying to remove a mugshot photo and site link from Google search results. I have already contacted the webmaster of the site and they have agreed to remove content yet my photo appears on image results though when you click on it, it is not on the site.

The site also appears in google search of my name though when you click on the search result, neither my name nor photo are there.

I have tried using the removal tool and imputed the url for both the photo and the site but i get a result that says "denied".

In layman's terms, these are all dead links by still appear in search results.

What can I do?

This is just a suggestion, to try until the big doggies arrive and help you.

Do a search in Google 'images'.

If you find your picture there, right click on it, then look over to the right side of the page where "Full-size image" shows up, do a right click 'copy shortcut' (or copy not sure).  Use that in Webmaster tools for removal.

It seems url remnants of pictures hang around for a while even though you removed the picture from the 'source'.

If this works for you, get back to us here.  Thanks!

You can post your links here by using the Google URL shortening tool. This way someone may be able to help you more directly.

Hi-

Thanks for the suggestion.

The results i got were as follows-

This page has been removed from the web or blocked from Google. Do you want to remove this page from Google search results?

I click on the yes, remove this page but it still appears a couple of days later.

Your comment regarding remnants hanging around when you have removed from the source is exactly right.

Thanks

Note that I did this a couple of days ago. Maybe it just takes time?

Did you use the URL of the 'current' page?

The cache would have your picture and info about you, the 'current' would not.

for the photo, i used the url that was indicated when i right clicked.

for the site i used the url that showed when i clicked on the search result.

the result i received when i used that url in removal tools is below-

when prompted for a word that no longer appears on live page i put in my name.

the request goes to pending status and eventually says denied?

URL:http://mugshots.brevardtimes.com/2012/03/brevard-county-arrest-mugshots-march-22.html
Reason:

If you want to remove the cache, tell Google how the page has changed. Type a word that no longer appears on the live page, but is still in the cached version.

Tip: Use Find (CTRL+F or COMMAND+F) in your browser to check the word is no longer on the live page.

....So it looks like you have done everything right.

....Not sure if you have to wait for a crawl.

....Perhaps someone will see this and have more input for you.

....Maybe this will work for you!  I used the URL you gave me and put it in Google Search.

....Then the correct link showed in the search results.  I then followed the arrrow to the right of that link.  Clicked on the cache link, opened that up.  Resized it.  Then I clicked on the 'current' page and placed both pages side by side.  I searched through 'all' the pictures until I found 'one' that was IN the cache page but not in the current page.

I used the name of that person, as the special word in Webmaster Tools.

The status shows as 'PENDING'.

I guess its the crawl part that takes time.

Thanks for your help.

.....Yes that could very well be.

.....In the meantime, I'll return here if the ''pending'' goes through and let you know.

.....I hope to be back with good news for you.

Shows status ''Removed''.

To verify it, do a search on your name.  You may see 2 lines showing for a while, then sometimes they disappear.

Thanks but I still see the same results appear. Both 2 dead links on a search of my name and a dead link on  a search of my photo on images

Can you see things I can't?

did you try the url for the photo?

For some reason when i right click on the photo it doesn't allow me to copy the image link. maybe thats a good sign.

Do not get in situations where it would lead to your image being taken. Use this link to remove your image - http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=181721

You will have to remove it from the sites the image is on. When I do background searches on people I do not just use Google.

Hey Nicanor,

Here is the Mugshots.com contact link:  If this is the site that has your picture I would definitely contact them.

Check out the FAQs:

The photographs they use are booking photographs taken during an investigation.  Refer to the first question in the FAQs..for the explanation of "What is a Mugshot?"

Regards,
Shannon

Well Storms, so much for innocent until proven guilty.  Also that link you suggested was completely worthless. You might as well have told Nicanor to view a video of mating calls the Yellow-headed Blackbird.  Here's that link which will be as about as helpful as the one you suggested, http://naturebits.org/mp3NoAmBirds/BlackbirdYHAccenting01.mp3.

I tried to remove my image that I hated on my own but it didn't work.  I even bought some 40 dollar course on how to do it myself and it took too long to see results i think it said 6 months or longer.  I used removemymugshots.com and so did a few of my friends they are the real deal.

Re: how
You have to remove from the source (or more like, get the source to remove for you somehow). Anything else is a temporary solution at best.

http://removemymugshot.org/ I used the $40 course and it worked for me...the key is setting up the website and adding your own pictures...you need your name as a domain name. You gotta follow the dorections to the letter. It's not super easy.

Yea this stinks.  What happened to "Innocent until proven guilty".  It's like modern day "Scarlet Letters" what they're doing to people.  Witch hunts.  This world is getting more and more F'd up everyday.  I read how a lot of these fix your mugshot places are guess where?...  Russia, Europe, Africa, Belize, etc.  Figures.

What do you guys do if you want to scrub "Web Search" results not just mugshots?

I always thought that Google was OK. But this cooperation with sites as mugshots.com stinks major time indeed. How difficult can it be to kick them out of the search results. In stead they seem to make bucks with it, especially on the image search part.

I think this www.brandyourself.com is a lot more reasonably priced and so far does not have that "scammer" reputation.  These other places are probably scams.  How do you know they will do anything for you?  Especially if they are located in Belize, Austria, etc.  Good luck getting your money back.  Good luck even if they are located in Montana.  How do you know once everybody knows they can get money from you that they don't just wait awhile then post more mugshots of you?  It's a big "extortion racket".  And unfortunately employers and other people like real estate people aren't aware of what's going on.  To them it's a cheap way to do a background check... a free way.  They don't realize people are being blackmailed and crucified all over the country.

Google is participating in criminal acts damaging thousands of you people. Google you should be ashamed of yourself. Keep it up and you will lose market share. Google isn't YOUR friend nomore.

I found in an article on the net an actual response from Google about all of this and they were pretty much like... we just produce search results.  Same sorta attitude you get from these places blackmailing people.  I was disappointed.  It would be so easy for them to do something about this.  Instead they are willing participants.  I can not hep but think their attitude would be TOTALLY different if it was them being targeted or somebody in their family.  Sometimes people with money and power just become more and more removed from the real world, from other people's problem, and become selfish and arrogant.

Go to your states attorney generals site and file a complaint about Goggle and the extortionists "extorting individuals" -

What they are doing is a CRIME and Google is participating. Be heard. Google is a good company (I hope) and once they understand their technology is being used in the commission of a crime they may take a different approach rather than ignoring you.

Yea... they all know about it.  People just got this attitude... you shouldn't get in trouble.  What about people that aren't guilty?  What about people that have not been actually convicted of anything yet?  And of course there are people that were found Not Guilty, Exonerated, etc. and still have all these pictures online of them.  This country is going down in so many ways it's sad.  Problem is the LAW has not caught up with the Internet at all.  A lot of people are being abused in so many diff. ways on the net.  It's NOT a crime right now.  There is a 250,000 plaintiff class action suit in OHIO right now.  Some states have passsed laws saying for a small fee they have to offer you to remove the pics.  And another state or two say if you have not been convicted they have to remove them.  But this is all new.  This is the Wild Wild West of the net right now.  Total lawlessness.

The sites that remove the mugshots are criminals - go read about them here. These posts are advertisements for extortion - they all should be in jail.

Here's the link On the other side of the equation are firms like RemoveSlander, RemoveArrest.com and all others that sometimes charge hundreds of dollars to get a mugshot removed.

On the surface, the mug-shot sites and the reputation firms are mortal enemies. But behind the scenes, they have a symbiotic relationship that wrings cash out of the people exposed.

Learn more about this criminal activity here http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/08/mugshots/

I’ve been looking for a way to get rid of my mugshots until i got introduced to this hacker that eventually helped me out.I was hesitant initially because i had already lost a lot of money to these removal companies who just extort people and never get the job done but this guy blew my mind,he was able to delete the mugshots and also remove some other negative online content that i needed to get rid of..You can reach him at hackl...@gmail.com for any ethical/unethical related service that might require..

I strongly urge against using someone claiming to be a hacker to remove a mugshot or any other negative content from the web.

After looking into your situation more, I stand behind my previous recommendation.. It's not worth the possible repercussions, as such hacking - i.e. to delete records from a website without the consent or knowledge of the website owner or admin - is illegal.  It can and has led to jail time for online reputation management company executives, one I can think of at the moment.

Instead spend about the same amount of money and get a company like Remove-Arrsts.org that specializes in removing arrest mugshots, police blotter and criminal records from websites, search results and the internet.
