My wife thinks her palm pilot has had it because she can't recharge
it. Does that, indeed, mean it's done. jim

It might mean the battery is dead. Take a look at the manual for the palm pilot to see if they have a battery reset procedure for the unit. Also, battery contacts may become corroded so removing the battery and cleaning the contacts with a q-tip and some alcohol may get it working again. If that doesn't work you may be able to get an old oem battery from a vendor on ebay.

My Palm has done that a few times since I didn't recharge it. I had to
charge it and hard boot it. Lost my information though.
