Telefunken Firmware Upgrade

The issue is that the display chrashes when using any app (YouTube or Netflix or scrolling menus) - the display only crashes,t he audio continues and you can go through the menus ( you just dont see what you are doing). You restart the TV and the display works again for a a moment. Telefunken support send me a firmware update, but I cannot follow through as the display constantly crashes. Told this to Telefunken support and they said I need to contact local repair shops. They don't do out-of-warranty repairs.
It feels ridiculous that the TV is now electronical waste because of firmware bug. Does anybody know repair shops that could be able to help (Nürnberg area)? Any help is appreciated. Can the manufacturers so easily decline service (charged ones) after warranty time?

All the following Telefunken Stock ROM (zip file) contains the original Telefunken USB Driver, Flash Tool, and the Firmware File. After Downloading the firmware, follow the instruction manual shipped with the firmware to flash or install firmware on mobile.

just bought one of these telefunken tel002 s a few days ago,when i first set it up the record function wasnt working,each time you start up you have to see the message "has found storage device" on the screen,if it says "storage device not found" you switch it off and restart till it says "has found storage device"
also,i have had problems with recordings not starting that i have programmed,which is very annoying,if i was giving advice to somebody about buying this i would say dont bother,save up more money and get a better quality pvr,im giving this till the weekend ,if its still forgetting to record i will be taking it back to Kmart
I'm looking for an HD replacement for my topfield std def twin tuner pvr and wondering if this could be it.
I have a Telefunken lcd tv and it and the topfield pvr's remotes have always clashed badly (changing channels on tv turns pvr off, changing channels on pvr brings up menus on tv etc etc) so maybe the telefunken to telefunken thing may be better.
I rang the help line. He was helpful, and emailed me a software upgrade. He told me how to record using the EPG (have to select the week view, then hit the record button twice) This seems to work, but the problem is that the programs tend to start late so you get the end of the previous program and lose the end of the show. Also because it starts recording when previous show is on the recording takes the name of that show.
Have u had any success in recording, also picked up one of these and although was able to record from tv directly still having trouble with timer record and epg record, did u work out how to watch a recorded program, have not been able to figure that out as yet. also what was the upgrade and who did u contact?
Did u get any further advice re setting up record, have tried to do from EPG but no luck, also have noticed green led labelled "LOCK" is on as soon as machined turned on, cannot find what it relates too. Also what was the software upgrade, did it seem to help?
Hi Guys purchased one of these 1 week ago from the mob on ebay and was able to go into thier store and pick one out from the pile they have. They strip out the HDD which is a Hitachi 500gb SATA 7200 drive and sell them for $49.99 on ebay. I selected one that said on the return lable from K-Mart "Not working correctly". In total it cost me just short of $60 in total. I got it home plugged it in and away she went. Menu is very clunky but after taking a little time and patience to set it back up correctly it now seems the unit works as it should. I also sent an email to Telefunken in Germany who in turn passed it onto the local service people in NSW asking about a possible firmware upgrade and it was sent to my email within 2 days. Have upgraded the firmware and still cannot find anything wrong with it. Even if the thing is fairly clunky and it is not a TiVo but cost buggar all and does exactly what we want it to do which is record one chanel while we watch another or be able to pause a show if we have to attend to the telephone etc. Happy to email the firmware if needed just drop me a line cheers.
As I read your comments & your willingness to help I would appreciate it very much if you can e-mail me the Update for the software/firmware. I would like to upgrade it & see if that can fix these issues.

Already have downloaded this manual, certainly very similar to the Telefunken but there are some differences (buttons on remote), Strong indicate that when using EPG record 10 minutes is auto added to record time but have checked and this does not appear to happen with TEL002, may need to upgrade firmware but unable to find.
