Despite following very carefully all the instructions about saving
attached faxes as postscript files with a .ps extension (on a PC), I
can't get the system to work, although I've been happily using tpc for
a couple of years otherwise, for straightforward email-to-fax..

Does anyone in UK know if it's just a local problem with our cell, or
can someone guide me to how to make it all work OK.

Thanks.

Dear Pal,

I'm not familiar with the email client (Forte Agent 1.5/32.451) u
run. But I think the problem might be that the email client can't
properly identify the "postscript" MIME type of file and compose the
message accordingly. Some email client provide a mean to manually
force the MIME type to be "application/postscript." To verify if it
is the problem, maybe u can send a postscript file to yourself and
check the header.

I've been testing several Windows95 email clients like Netscape mail,
Eudora Lite and what I'm currently running, Pegasus mail. None of
them is perfect when composing "application/remote-printing" type of
messages. Perhaps u should check the next web site first.

To the browser users of the world, the next web site might give u
some idea. It provides an "attachment" field. But it's not a good
idea if u can't find a place near u because it's an "upload"
procedure to u.

The job is done by a special CGI program. Similar web sites can be
found world wide but lack of the "attachment" capability.

Hello Tony,

We love to help you, but simply based on "I can't get the system to work"
does not give us enough clue to offer any meaningful help.

Can you tell us:
- how did you create the PS file? Which program did you use?
- which printer driver did you use?
- what was the page size you selected?
- which program did you use for your email? under Win3.1? Or Win 95?
- the response your received from the fax server.
