I'm looking for a way to allow multiple users to authenticate to an
x11 server via the network, disconnect, re-authenticate from another
client and resume the x11 session.
VNC seems the easy solution but it has limitations. Is there an
implementation that uses the x11 client server model to suspend and
resume sessions over the network?

The name had escaped me, but the specific feature I'm looking for is
an ability to detach and reattach a network x11 session. Impossible?
