getty too quickly

Hello FreeBSD-friends,
 
after installing FreeBSD 4.4 with additional software from the ISO-image i receive continously
messages like:
 
a. getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/console, sleeping 30 seconds

b. getty[368]: login_tty /dev/console: Operation not supported by device
 
This appears on all consoles and no productive work is possible.
 
What is wrong? How can I repair it?
I´m sure that´s only a fault of me and not of FreeBSD.
