Scope of the Conference
RTCSA 2003 aims to be a forum on the trends as well as innovations
in the growing areas of real-time and embedded systems,
and to bring together researchers and developers from academia and
industry for advancing the technology of real-time computing systems,
embedded systems and their applications. The conference has the
following goals:
1. to investigate advances in real-time and embedded systems;
2. to promote interactions among real-time systems, embedded systems
and their applications;
3. to evaluate the maturity and directions of real-time and embedded
system technology;
4. to bridge research and practicing experience in the communities
of real-time and embedded systems.
The conference will take place at National Cheng-Kung University
located in the southern part of Taiwan.
There will be a program consisting of invited addresses, presentation
of technical papers, panels and tutorials. Conference attendees will
explore the state-of-art research and development in real-time computing
systems, embedded systems, and their applications.
Papers describing new ideas, promising approaches, novel mechanisms,
insightful experiences with practical and research systems, and work
in progress are welcome. Proposals for panel sessions and tutorials
are also solicited. Please send proposals for panel sessions or =
tutorials
to the organizing committee.
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in all relevant areas
of real-time and/or embedded systems including, but not limited to the
following topics:
scheduling and resource management, real-time requirements and design
specifications, formal methods, modeling, operating systems, =
databases,
file systems, networks and communications, multimedia applications,
architectures, middleware and APIs, real-time or embedded Java,
programming languages and programming environments, software =
engineering,
fault tolerance, performance analysis, pervasive/ubiquitous computing,
power-aware resource management, home computing, embedded systems,
sensor networks, distributed control, signal-processing, =
instrumentation,
responsive systems and mission-critical systems, computer-based =
control
applications, tool support, case studies, and any core application =
area
in real-time systems.
Submissions of Papers
Authors are encouraged to submit their papers electronically,
either in PDF format suitable for Acrobat reader or postscript
format with A4 size pages, through a web form (the web address
will be announced soon).
Papers should describe original research or insightful application
experience, and should not exceed 20 double-spaced pages (or
approximately 5000 words). The cover page should contain the
paper title, author's full name(s), affiliation, address, telephone
number, fax number, e-mail address, an abstract and keywords.
All accepted submissions will appear in the proceedings published.
Details of paper submission guidelines and instructions for
submitting papers are available on the conference web page at
http://RTCSA2003.ee.ncku.edu.tw/.
While electronic submissions are preferred, postal submissions
will be accepted for review, provided they arrive by the
submission deadline of October 15, 2002.
All authors taking this option should mail four (4) printed copies,
in pages of A4 size, of their submitted papers to the program chair
at:
Department of Electrical Engineering
National Cheng-Kung University
1 University Road, Tainan City 701
Taiwan, R.O.C.
In addition, a text file containing paper title, full name, =
affiliations,
complete addresses, phone and fax numbers, email addresses, and an
abstract of up to 150 words should be emailed to jc...@mail.ncku.edu.tw.
