Universitaet Oldenburg is opening an

Assistant Professorhip
(Juniorprofessur, W1)

The Department and the adjoint research institute OFFIS have a strong
focus on safety critical system design, with currently about 50 full
time scientists working in this topic area.. "Sichere Systeme", i.e.
safety-critical systems, is one of the currently five strategic topic
areas of the Carl-von-Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, and is as such

Jointly with the R&D Division of Safety Critical Systems at the
associated research institute OFFIS, this covers both foundational and
applied research for safety critical systems such as in avionics,
automotive, and train systems, ranging from HCI design to assessment of
working conditions in airplanes to process improvements for the system-
and safety analysis processes. Jointly, some 20 large scale research
projects are carried out within the area of safety-critical systems,
ranging from industrial projects funded under IST such as SafeAir,
ESACS, AIT Wooddes, Omega, to Networks of Excellence such as Artist, to
the BMBF funded Virtual Software Engineering competence center VISEK
which at OFFIS has its focus on safety critical embedded systems, to
foundational research carried out within all three DFG funded
Schwerpunktprogramme in the area of Embedded Systems. The Department of
Computer Science is offering a specialized degree in the area of
embedded systems within its computer science curriculum, both at the
Bachelor- and Diploma level, with an international master program under
preparation.
