Hello, Everyone

So, I have a catch-all domain to receive mail, which allows me to give out personalised email addresses to anyone, like this: for_spammy.corpo...@catchall.mydomain.test

This allows me to ban emails selectively, and also know who was that bastard that sold my email to spammers.

So I have set up the receiving part on my server, that is, everything gets forwarded to my GMail, but not the sending part. Or, rather, I have set up the sending part with smtpmail, i.e., all emails sent from some...@catchall.mydomain.test are sent from my mail server, but not the mu4e part, that is, automatic selection of emails.

Does anyone use a similar strategy and is ready to share their mu4e setup?
I think there are likely to be two ways of selecting a from: address. Either based on whom the email was originally sent to, parsing the headers, or on some field in bbdb/org-contacts, something like that.

Is anybody ready to share their setup?

I think you'll be better served by Gnus. It has very sophisticated rules for composing based on regex of email address, content, title, mailing list, etc. For example, look at the bottom example in https://www.gnus.org/manual/gnus_76.html#Posting-Styles where you specify the SMTP server according to rules.
