Hello,

Surprisingly, it's the first time in a few month of mu4e usage that I need to do this, and I really can't find how.

I saved a mail while editing it to go look for another email to verify some of the information I was writing about in the email I was composing. Now I want to reopen that draft email (which is present in my draft folder), continue editing it and then send it. How can I do that?

It seems to be a very normal operation so I can't imagine that it's not possible, yet I can't find how to do it.

Go to the message in your draft folder and press 'E'. This is actually
mentioned in the manual...

Best wishes,
Dirk.

I googled for "inurl:http://www.djcbsoftware.nl/code/mu/mu4e draft"
but didn't see it, and now that I did it again since you tell that it
actually is in the manual, it seems I just missed it -_-'.

Sorry, and thanks a lot ! :-)

Hello. I too had this doubt. But when I try to edit a draft I get the following messages:
error in process filter: mu4e-error: [mu4e] failed to determine drafts folder
error in process filter: [mu4e] failed to determine drafts folder

I have mu4e-drafts-folder set correctly, and mu4e saved the draft file in the correct place. What may be happening?

For re-editing drafts, mu4e tries to figure out the drafts folder when
the draft was first created -- which is not necessarily that same as the
current drafts folder. So I suspect in your case that doesn't work for
some reason...

I've pushed a change for this -- can you try if that works? If not,
please file an issue on github, with some detail with respect to your
mu4e-maildir, mu4e-draft-folder.

Kind regards,

I don't think I would complain if mu4e would look for drafts only in the current draft folders.
Would this behaviour address some issue I am not thinking of?

It solved the problem I faced. Thank you so very much, Dirk!

I have no idea what caused this problem. I hope it was not a problem with my config.

I also noticed that mu4e was not deleting the drafts when sending the messages. This also seems to be working now.

Well, some people have multiple draft folders (and note that the folder
might be dynamic), so we have to make a guess. And that usually works.

Okay, happy to hear that!

You know, I've never found it necessary to save a draft when I want to
check another email for some information. I just open mu4e again, search
for the email (or the mailbox it's in) and display it.

In fact, doing C-x 1 followed by C-x 3 C-o and then M-x mu4e allows you
to see the relevant mail and the one you're composing side by side.
