Greetings from the MTTS Trust!

Hope that you are doing well in your life and career, and that you are safe and healthy in these pandemic times.

You may be aware that the Mathematics Training & Talent Search Programme - the most effective and popular summer training programme for mathematics students in India - is now being organized by the MTTS Trust. The Trust was registered in 2018 with the aim of promoting mathematics in India. Apart from the Annual Summer Camp, the Trust has been organizing Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath) Camps of shorter duration for students at regional levels and Pedagogical Training for Mathematics Teachers (PTMT) camps for teachers.

The year 2020 brought unique challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Though the annual MTTS summer camp was initially canceled, due to requests from the selected participants, the Trust rose to occasion by reinventing itself and conducting the Summer Camp online on a short notice. The success of this venture spurred further online activities which include an Online Foundation Course in Mathematics (OFCM), consisting of 6 simultaneous regional camps, catering to about 500 students covering the whole country, Online Short Courses and Lecture Series, and an Online Open Mathematics Forum. Another activity, a first of its kind for the MTTS family, is the online lectures organized by Math Club (of MTTS alumni), in collaboration with the MTTS Trust. We would like to bring to your attention that since 2020, the MTTS Trust has started accepting donations from its well-wishers. Contributions to the MTTS Trust are eligible for tax benefit of 100% deduction under the Section 80G (5) (vi) of the Income tax act 1961.

Responding to the appeal from the MTTS Trust, a number of alumni and well-wishers of MTTS have started contributing to the cause with small donations. Since there is a large number of beneficiaries of the MTTS programmes held till date, crowd funding with small (and periodical) contributions from all can surely do wonder for taking MTTS forward to benefit a larger number of students across the country. Further, we request you to share this information with your fellow mathematicians and friends who may be interested in contributing for uplifting of mathematics education in India. You may feel free in forwarding this email to them if you prefer to do so.
