MTTS Programme

Hi,

The following facts may be borne in mind before people send their queries:

1. I do not have any support staff to answer thousands of mail which I
receive every month.
Most of them deal with the points answered in the MTTS FAQ. I also
have a regular workload as any teacher
of University as well as many commitments as being part of various
national committees.

2. There were more than 4000 applications for 180 seats. It is
impossible for me to answer
queries which start with `why am I not selected?" or `what are the
criteria?' etc.

3. As mentioned elsewhere, no request for the change of venue will be
entertained.

4.. With a very small group of committed people, we are organizing
this programme year after year
against all odds.

5. While I do understand that many want to participate in the
Programme, we cannot organize
it at as many centres as we would like, due to the shortage of
mathematicians who are committed
to the betterment of the mathematics scene in this country. We are
unable to find the motivated faculty for our programme.
Very few of us for the last 17 years, year after year sacrifice our
vacation, family and professional life to organize this programme.

So if you really want to help us, you ask some of the top institutes
and their people to contribute to this activity.
