Mountain Source Sangha Invitation to Sangha Week 2009 at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center

You are invited to join together at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center for
Sangha Week.
In the inline text at the end of this email as well as in the
attachments you will find the invitation letter and registration form
for the Sangha Weeks 2009.
To make sure that the members from all three groups of Mountain Source
Sangha have the opportunity to be at Tassajara at the same time, the
three teachers and the board have decided to promote WEEK 2 for
Mountain Source Sangha.
So please make sure that you sign up for WEEK 2 if you can.
Sangha Week 2, May 10 – 15, 2009 (Sunday evening – Friday, noon)
If the dates of week 2 do not work for you, you are of course welcome
to sign up for week 1.
You will need to register personally by filling out the registration
form and mailing it to the Tassajara Reservation Office (the mailing
address is on the registration form)
Please register as soon as possible – the spaces fill up very quickly.

INVITATION TO SANGHA WEEK 2009

Dear Dharma Teachers and Sangha Members,
We are pleased to invite you to join us for Sangha Weeks 2009 at
Tassajara Zen Mountain Center.
Week 1: Sunday, May 3 - Friday, May 8, 2009
Week 2: Sunday, May 10 - Friday, May 15, 2009
Sangha Weeks are times set aside at the beginning of the Tassajara
guest season to welcome Dharma teachers and members of affiliated and
other sanghas to practice together. The unique beauty of this deep
valley in the heart of the Ventana Wilderness has been a place of
healing and renewal for centuries.
We invite and welcome: teachers with their students who want to spend
some time together; groups of sangha members without their teacher;
and individual practitioners who wish to come alone or with a friend.
Sangha Weeks are an inspiring time for practice and to meet others on
the Way.
In the morning, Sangha Week participants will join the residential
community for zazen, breakfast, work practice and lunch. The afternoon
and evening schedule includes Dharma events and allows for personal
time. Dinner will be in the guest dining room.
Fees: Sangha Week: $275 person/week
Note: This year the $25
teaching donation is included in the fee.

give more you are welcome to do so.
Stage: $ 45 (roundtrip transportation between
Jamesburg and Tassajara)
Registration: Please print and make copies of the attached
registration form available for other people in your sangha. You may
send a check with a completed registration form to:

Please note that accommodations will be based on availability and on a
first come, first served basis.
Rev. Christina Lehnherr will be leading and coordinating both weeks
again this year. She will be at Tassajara during both weeks to ensure
support for all participants.
All participating teachers will be invited to collaborate in creating
the afternoon and evening events. Christina will contact them upon
their sign-up.

is required for priority registration. Those wishing to stay fewer
than five nights will be placed on a waiting list and, if space

Sangha Week Cancellation and Change Policies
Because Tassajara is in a remote location and we cannot depend on
drop-ins to fill space, we must be strict about cancellations and
changes. This year, we have revised our cancellation and change
policies to make them more consistent and straightforward.
Reservation Cancellations: Any cancellation made 8 days or more prior
to the scheduled arrival date will incur a $35 cancellation fee per
reservation. With 7 days or less notice of cancellation, 50% of the
total reservation cost is forfeit, and the difference will be
refunded. If the cancellation is made within two business days, then
the entire deposit amount is forfeit.
Failure to check-in by noon of the day after your scheduled arrival
date will be considered a cancellation and we will not hold your room
beyond that time, unless you give prior notice to the Reservations
Office that you are running late.
Stage Cancellations: If you cancel your stage reservation 8 days or
more prior to arrival, you will incur no fee. With a notice of 7 days
or less, 50% of the stage fee is forfeit. If the cancellation is made
within two business days, then the entire stage deposit is forfeit.
Changes: Any change made to a reservation 8 days or more prior to the
scheduled arrival date will incur a $35 fee per reservation, if the
change results in a downgrade (i.e. a lower total reservation cost).
Any change made to a reservation 7 days or less prior to the arrival
date will also incur a $35 fee, provided that the arrival date of the
revised reservation is within one week of the original arrival date
and the reservation is for the same number of nights. If the change
is made within 7 days and results in fewer nights, then there will be
a 50% forfeit of the total cost for each cancelled night. If there is
a new arrival date that is more than one week from the original
arrival date, then the original reservation is considered to be
cancelled.
