Dear MELM group,

Breaking the silence a bit in our hectic lives...

Having managed to obtain a priviledged account (thanks especially to Robert), I have uploaded and continue to upload videos featuring our academic/artistic enterprises to Youtube. Hopefully, assistance will also be provided from Başkent University's mainframes in the conversion and uploading of the rest of the MELM DVDs to a site of their own or a YouTube channel, time permitting...

Needless to say, it's a drag to battle with the video codec jungle of modern-era computing. I'm trying to learn the secrets as I progress.

You know how slow things go nowadays, especially in Turkey... Neither the founding rector of Başkent Uni. (Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal), nor my uncle director of HAVELSAN (Dr. Faruk Yarman) have been released from their captivity in Silivri Penitentiary, although spawned allegations against them have all but been proven to be vile fabrications. Much energy is spent fixing things gone awry for nought while our future looks bleak. But, I digress...

The promised amateur DVD by me is undergoing some final efforts to get a touch-up before I send it to you all. I realise this has been rather behind schedule, not to mention much ado about my trifling production skills. The promised MELM Multimedia DVD or BluRay which I promised is always on my agenda also. I hope to commit myself to do so much more if only I can get my good ol' spirits back.

As a side note, I would like to nominate for membership a Jean-Baptiste Collinet, who appears to have put in motion the iOS app called "Geo Synthesizer", but was cast off aside by his mates due to some traumatic suffering in his life. He requested my personal mentorship in tuning & makam theory and I believe we can benefit from his programming skills.
