Hi MELM group,

I want to share some good news regarding my 79-tone qanun. Tahir Aydoğdu contacted me for the possible inclusion of a presentation by me and additional theoretical ruminations within the framework of the 1 October 2012 "Qanun Festival" to be held in Istanbul.

I already am in contact with another colleague, Ulrich Bruchholz, for some time concerning how to prepare an sf2 containing scales of sampled sounds of my 79-tone qanun.

Another idea in this context is to use Aaron's H-Pi U-PLEX keyboard to demonstrate the prospected qanun soundfont.

Cordially,
Dr. Oz.

Congrats, Ozan.

For using with U-PLEX or any of my software (or any other software for that matter), your qanun .sf2 file should contain an exact 12ET set of samples in however many zones you decide. Don't put any tuning other than 12ET into the soundfont. Once you have it done, you can load it into CSE or Scordatura or TPXE to use it in whatever tuning you want. Oh, and it is best to turn on the Reverb switch in the sf2 file.

I'll take your advice into account, Aaron Andrew.

Good work on the intervalcalc BTW! Thanks.

Oz.
