Invitation to become a member of the Groton Trails Committee

Dear Friends of Trails,

As the new year begins, and you are thinking about how you would like to get more involved in the Town of Groton, perhaps this offer will be of interest to you:

 

A seat has opened up on the 11-member Trails Committee.  Please consider becoming a member to take on a larger role with the maintenance and planning of upgrades for the Groton Trails Network. 

 

Among the few requirements to become a member of the Groton Trails Committee are these:

1) A willingness to make a commitment to improve the Groton Trails Network in whatever way(s) your interests and time allow;

2) A willingness to make a commitment to attend our 2-hour meetings on the 3^rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm, at which we share our plans and progress and receive feedback from each other; and

3) A desire to educate users of the Groton Trails Network about our trails, including their uniquely diverse ecological and geological characteristics, so that they can be responsibly sustained.

 

If you want to know more about what we do, call or send me an email and I’d be happy to discuss potential roles with you.  Or, just submit a Committee Interest Form on the Town Website (look under the tab “Where Do I…”) and then plan on coming to our next meeting on January 17 at 7:00 pm in Town Hall (2^nd floor Conference Room).  At our meeting, you can ask the Committee members any questions you have about joining and we’ll be happy to provide our answers.  We strive for the discussion to be informative, informal, and stress-free.

 

Those who apply first will receive priority if the Committee has to choose between otherwise similar applicants, so submit an interest form as soon as you decide to look into this opportunity.
