Telugu people's History in Mumbai & Maharashtra is over 300 years old , it is well researched / written by Late Shri Manohar Kadam as part of his Research. The book is entitled MUMBAICHA UBHARNEETH TELUGU SAMAJACHE YOGDAAN.
We have done Telugu Translation and English Translation work in in process, expected to release by end of 2011. ( Require sponsors / donors for the same to subsidize the costs )
In brief, the summary of this book is as below , but you all must keep copy of this book always with you @ home. This is our History book.
1. Telugu People came to Mumbai for livelihood since the times of Shivaji Maharaj and worked in his army and constructed various forts / killas.
2. Due to our skill set , British invited our people for the development & construction of Mumbai from seven marshy islands into a big city which we all see and enjoy today.
3. Our people built VT station , RAJABAI Towers , Secretariat bldg and many architectures of Mumbai , you can read the book for more details on our people work.
4. Our Poeple worked with Tilak Ji , Phule Ji , Ambedkar Ji etc and contributed maximum funds for setting up Satya Shodhak Samaj and various charitable organizatrion in Mumabi and especially in Kamatipura etc.
5. Our Leaders played crucial role during Quit India Movement and Independence struggle .
6. Shri Narsing Rao Puppala was the Mayor of Mumbai in 1955 and delivered great lecture in Florence , Italy.
7. Our Telugu People also sacrificed lives for the Samyukta Maharashtra Andolan and worked for the setting up of Maharashtra State during 1960.
8. Telugu man , Shri Sayaji Silam was the 1st Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly during 1960/61.
9. We had great political leaders like Shanker Seth Puppala , Parshuram Puppala , Narayan Ganji , V R Tulla , G L Reddy , and the list is endless... you must read the book...
10. Our contribution to the state is immense in Textile Industry , Construction and service industry...and now the software and IT services..

We have to show UNITY in DIVERSITY and build brotherhood with Marathi Friends and work together with other all People for our own development and for the development of
Maharashtra Economy. Though AP is our home land , but Maharashtra is our KARMABHOOMI. Most of our younger generation is born here.. this place is their
Janmabhoomi and Karmabhoomi as well & we all are the sons of this soil.
