To,
Shri Ch Vidyasagar Rao Garu
Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra
Mumbai.
Dear Sir,
Greetings and wish you good health and happiness.
Further to our various meeting for SBC matters, letters to various Govt Deptt and
meetings in your office as well on15th March 2016, 2nd June 2016 ,
still no progress is made in sorting out the issues,
Kindly a meetings with all concerned officers under your guidance to thrash out the hurdles in full implementation of 2% reservations for SBC community as per Govt GR. We are not asking for anything more than what is in the GR.
SBC Community, most ( over 70% ) of Telugu people living in Maharashtra State fall under SBC - SPECIAL BACK WARD CLASS with 2% reservation. GR is issued in 1994, ( same over 7 castes removed from OBC list and made new category called SBC ) but the same GR is not being implemented across all higher and medical EducatIon and Govt Jobs/promotions.
We have made RTI query of SBC students admission in MEDICAL educatIon, the MUHS reply is attached. Its very sad to know that SBC community is loosing over 100 MBBS seats every year. This is great loss and deprivation of educational rights for the SBC students from not only Telugu Padmashali but other sbc castes of Maharashtra State as well.
Since last 7 years, only 106 students from SBC community got admission for MBBS and its similar loss of SBC students in other medical courses.
The approximate 3000 MBBS seats in Govt medical colleges and same no of seats in private colleges as well. Even is 2% of Govt seats, SBC community should get approx 60 seats every year. If we add Private colleges, SBC community should get over 120 seats every year, where as the actual data is less than 20 MBBS seats every year for SBC community.
We request you good office to call the meeting of concerned Social welfare , Higher Education Ministers, the Secretaries and advise them to implement 2% reservation for SBC community across all Higher & Medical Education, Jobs/Promotions in State Govt, Zilla Parishad, Municipal corporations , Nagar Palika, Gram Panchayat etc
We look forward for your immediate intervention to help SBC community in the ongoing admission of Higher / Medical education admission process.
Thanking you,
JAGANBABU R GANJI
