Slim Chance 2.0 (54.5 cm top tube length)
Up for sale is a custom-built Slim Chance 2.0 road bike. Introduced in 1991 by Chris Chance (Fat City Cycles), the Slim Chance was a pioneering, TIG-welded steel road bike that broke from the era's traditional lugged construction. After a long hiatus, Chris Chance launched the Slim Chance 2.0, updating the original design with slightly larger diameter tubing for increased stiffness, a carbon fork, and modern, high-end components. New, the frame and carbon fork go for $2795 with an upcharge of $620 for the “Yo Road” segmented steel fork.
I am the third owner of this version 2.0 Slim Chance. The original build included a carbon fork, which the 2nd owner replaced with a segmented steel fork built by Chris Chance. In addition to adding to the looks of the bike, the steel fork was spec’d to allow for larger diameter bike tires. Note the pictures include 700x26 tires. The bike originally came to me with 700x28 Conti tires. Both front and rear clearances offering plenty of room to spare (see photographs).
Note the vintage-inspired fade paint scheme. I am not sure the pictures do it justice. It’s clearly an eye-catcher. The 2nd owner spared nothing, color coding the stem, seat, wheel hubs, and even the cable bumpers!
Componentry is top notch, including:

This was my CA bike that I don’t have much use for and its too nice of a bike to just lay around. It’s a rare bike and everywhere I rode it people gawked.
$1850 for the cycling group. It goes on eBay this weekend where it will be priced higher.
