Travel Sales Specialists (Toronto)

This is a full time or part time position in an inbound call centre.


DESCRIPTION:

Service incoming customer calls by responding to general inquiries and requests for information relating to the AIR MILES® Reward Program, Collector accounts and Sponsor offers

Service incoming travel, vacation and leisure related Collector calls

Up-sell and cross-sell items in the AIR MILES® reward miles merchandise portfolio such as entertainment, sports, leisure, and retail certificates, along with flights, cars, hotels, travel insurance and other travel services

Increase insurance penetration through selling of preferred insurance products

Optimize booking system and resources to increase sales

Maintain and upkeep strong product knowledge skills to offer the relevant products to Collectors

Access and update AIR MILES® customer accounts

Analyze individual problems and take appropriate action to ensure that customer needs are met

Deal with ad hoc changes and difficult queries in a patient and professional manner


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated abilities to listen and understand and respond appropriately in English.

Use of various computerized travel booking systems

Ability to thrive in multi faceted Call Centre environment, along with promoting AIR MILES® products and services

Demonstrated excellence in verbal communications, telephone skills and mannerism.

Successfully pass a computerized call center simulation test

Previous work experience or education in the travel industry required, along with experience in a Call Centre or customer service environment

Strong customer orientation

Proven record of excellent work performance dependability and reliability.

Team player

Detail oriented

Strong PC skills

OPERATING HOURS:

Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to midnight
Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

You would be required to be flexible and be available to work different shifts within the Customer Care Centre operating hours

Part time employees work between 25 and 30 hours per week. Please note that this is not a part-time evening/weekend position

Full time employees work 37.5 hours per week

LOCATION:

Positions are for our Toronto location (Yonge and York Mills)

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Starting rate of $14.50 per hour plus shift premium of $1.50 per hour after 6 pm and $2.00 per hour bilingual English/French premium

Upon completion of all training (10 weeks) the rate will increase to $16.00 per hour plus all applicable premiums as above

After 6 months of worked employment in the Customer Care Centre (not including training period), the rate will increase again to $17.00 per hour plus applicable premiums
