You can now get at straight Oracle text, thanks to James's suggestion.
See: http://mtgcauldron.com/search?q=in:2010&format=oracle

I don't have UI to access this yet; any suggestions?

Link is broken?

How about a button: Export to file?
Dialogue: alpha? by colour? by type?

Sorry, fixed! (Was busy at PAX; played M10 2HG Sealed, placed 2nd!)

How much flexibility do I have for these text exports?
What if I want flavour text? Or name of the artist? Or each set in
which a card has appeared?
Can I choose my options and still get the text only output?

Flavor text isn't available, because there's no way to pull it out of Wizards without killing their backends (that I know of).  We could always get people to add it manually, though.

Artist name is easy.  Each set is also easy.  The question is how best to drop it on results without looking too cluttered.  I'm actually working with someone on a site who actually has some design background, so hopefully I'll have something super-cool to release in the near future.

How would you like to choose options like this?

(Also, how would I go about taking the Judge L1 exam?)

It would be great to be able to have a menu from which to choose the options available for the output - either a pull down or via buttons. If not, then at least some instructions about how to get the Oracle output format in the various combinations of information that someone may want.

Once you've passed the Rules Advisor exam online, the best way to take the L1 is to sign up for actually judging an event through cascadegames.com and notifying them that your goal is to volunteer for observation so you can test. Then they'll schedule you for whichever upcoming event there is available where this can occur. Absent that, if you're already actively judging somewhere - like a local shop or at your regular event location - then someone like me can give you that exam after an interview about your typical judging activity and involvement.

Sure.  I'll work on getting it into the design (perhaps something on the formats pages, since that's what you'll normally be wanting to display).

Passed the Rules Advisor exam (again, post-M10 changes).  I didn't think I was supposed to judge until I took an L1 exam; chicken 'n egg and all that, I guess.  In that case, I might bother Matt about judging his events. :)

Exactly - we encourage folks wanting to certify to start judging at the level they wish to attain as soon and as often as possible. I don't know how things are developing over at Southcentre, but I'm sure that given the environment, if you run a month's worth of events there, you should be more than eligible for the exam. - James.
