I just got this reddit message, it seems to be occurring for me, how about everyone else?

--------

I saw something about you being part of the development team for MTG familiar, and I wasn't quite sure where I could contact you guys. but I am having a little problem, for some reason the image search doesn't work. it always says "no card found in image" but then I get a notification about that google goggles has found matches for my image.

was wondering if you had heard anything about this and or if you had a fix for this. other than that, app is great :)

Thanks

It hasn't been working for me either. I think Google may have closed this "api".

Hi everyone,

Unfortunatly, Google never released any Goggles API (even if they used to say they would). The reason may be their Google Glass project.
I made the MTG Familiar Goggles class using the work done by a guy named Fadi Hassan who made reverse engineering on Goggles. Here is his work : http://notanothercodeblog.blogspot.fr/2011/02/google-goggles-api.html

Since a few months, the "key" (cssid) to put inside goggles identification request is no longer validating.
So Goggles is no longer usable for us.

I had a look to some other projects but they all work the same way : you pay to upload your own image library inside a database and you can make image recognition on it ... but it is VERY expensive (several hundred of dollars per month) so non usable for us.

Here are bad news. Maybe we should remove the camera button from every layout and from the application capabilities ?

Sad day indeed. I agree that, at least in the short term, the non-functional button should be removed. I had seen two projects about magic card recognition on reddit some time ago. I'll see if I can dig them up and send a few messages, maybe find a replacement. Or, you know, we could write something from scratch.
