Happy New Year!
You may have heard about this and here it is: a new simple project for our clubs.
El Paso RoofCARE is doing a free roof repair for a local non-profit organization, the Center Against Family Violence for their shelter (at an undisclosed location) on Saturday, October 13. The Kiwanis clubs will participate by feeding the roofers and do a donation drive for the Center. All you need to do is put this potential project on your club agenda for discussion and a vote.
The donation drive is simple: collect paper goods, cleaning supplies, baby items and/or monetary contributions and take them to the center on Saturday, October 13 from 10:00 to noon. Lunch for the roofers will be served at 11:00 am (details to follow). Everyone is encouraged to participate.
I will also be preparing an email and Facebook event for our friends, family and co-workers to also participate.
The best part of this project is that RoofCARE is putting out a challenge for other roofers and contractors to do a free roof repair for an El Paso needy family.
