Dear texture experts,
we are very proud to announce a new major release MTEX 3.4. This release features a completely rewritten visualization engine. It is now much more powerful and more simple to use. Below you find a short list of new features. For more details have a look at the
ChangeLog.
We hope you like it.
Ralf Hielscher and Florian Bachmann
Major new features (short list)
- Support for Schmid tensor and active slip system computations.
- MTEX is now aware about inconsistent coordinate system used in CTF and HKL EBSD files for Euler angles and spatial coordinates and can correct this.
- New option 'sharp' for plotting EBSD maps having a sharp texture that yields optimized contrast in the color map.
- The alignment of the coordinate axes in all plots can be changed interactively using the new MTEX menu.
- Arbitrary plots can be combined in one figure.
- Arbitrary plots can be plotted as contour plots.
- new methods for import / export of vectors and orientations
- new interfaces for EBSD and pole figure data
Unfortunately, we included a stupid bug into MTEX 3.4. which does not allow to startup MTEX. We shall provide a fixed version MTEX 3.4.1 soon. In the meanwhile the following workaround should help
setpref('mtex','binaries',false)
