Modes overlapping

Hello, so I am trying to retrieve two orientations from my pole figure- those of the main texture concentration.  I am trying to do this with the calcModes function.
First I calculate the odf with a large halfwidth,

odf=calcODF(ebsd_H4('Magnesium').orientations,'halfwidth',10*degree);

%then I try to get the modes out

[modes, ~] = calcModes(odf,2);

%I transform the two resulting orientations to 3D vectors and label them on the pole figure...

And they're on top of each other.


I have also tried calculating the odf with different halfwidths and extracting 3 modes, in which case I get the figure below.


What am I missing here?  Mostly I just want to extract the orientation of that texture component.
