I am trying to load and then plot EBSD data. (Matlab v. 7.7.0 (R2008b); MTEX v. 4.0.5; on a PC) Im new to MTEX.

I start matlab up and find the mtex folder in the directory. Then I type 'startup_mtex' in the command window. I click on 'Import EBSD data' and the import wizard pops up. I click on the '+' sign to add my data (.crc file), which is in a different folder. After clicking open, I get an error dialog box. The error reads:

"Error: <a href="matlab: opentoline['F:\Opened_MTEX4.0.5\interfaces\loadEBSD.m',60,7]">File:loadEBSD.m Line: 60 Column: 7<?a> Expresion or statement is incorrect-possibly unbalanced (, {, or [.

I havent modified any code. I have basically just downloaded it and followed intructions on the website. It may be something simple I'm not doing. I have attached the data that I am trying to open.

Hi Rachel Wells,

I have no problems importing the data. Can you try importing the data directly by

ebsd = loadEBSD('Project2.cpr')

All the best,

Ralf.

Dear Rachel,

you should get something like this with your data using first plotting convention on the left Y up and X to ->X. Try using MTEX 4.0.6 just released. You may need to use other combinations of plotting convention and specimen coordinated system of to reproduce the orientation on your SEM/EBSD system.

all the best David Mainprice
