Hello,

I'm not able to install MTEX  4.0.beta5 version. I find the following error:

>> startup_mtex
initialize MTEX 4.0.beta5  ..Undefined function 'setMTEXpref' for input arguments of type 'char'.

Error in startup_mtex (line 55)
setMTEXpref('mtexPath',local_path);

And I can't find the 'setMTEXpref' function on the zip file. I'm running MATLAB R2014a on windows 7 enterprise.

Thanks

Nicolas Bayona

Hi Nicolás Bayona,

thank you very much for reporting this bug. This is a very frequently occurring issue. However, I was never able to reproduce it. Therefore, I would be happy for some help from your side.

Could you please post the the output of the command

path

after you got the error message?

Ralf.

PS: A workaround for this bug is to add the mtex folder with subfolders to the Matlab search path under [Home -> Set Path] in the Matlab menu bar, but I really would like to figure out why this bug occurs.

I'm still interested in the answer to my previous question, but I also uploaded a corrected version MTEX 4.0.1 to our new homepage

Hope this works now,

Ralf.

Hi Ralf,
Sorry for the late answer. I wasn't gettting the notifications on my email.
You'll find attached the output of the command "path" after the error message when trying to install the version MTEX  4.0.beta5.

Regards,
Nicolas

Hi again Ralf,
I installed the version 4.0.2 using the workaround you described above. It didn't work from the first time using the "startup_mtex" command.

Thanks,
Nicolas
