Hi,

Would it be possible to have the MTEX documentation as a standalone PDF file? It would be handy to read it on the go and without internet/MATLAB.

Thanks.

Hi Rased,
not pdf, but have you had a look in doc/html/ of any released version version?
Cheers,
Rüdiger

Hi Rüdiger,

I have found the doc/html/, but which file is the start page? I could bookmark it.

Thanks.

The starting html file for the MTEXdoc command can be found in doc/html/mtex_product_page.html. When you use matlab help you can see in the lower toolbar the path of the html link by hovering the cursor above it (see attached picture).

Each help file in the doc/html folder can be produced by publishing a matlab file (.m) with the same name in the doc folder. For example, if you want the pdf version of the doc/html/GrainReconstructionDemo.html (Grains 'First Steps and Function Overview')  you can open doc/GrainAnalyses/GrainReconstructionDemo.m and publish the file as pdf (or doc, html, etc.).

You can find help for publishing in matlab here: https://de.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/publish.html

Cheers,
Filippe

Hi MTEXNewbie,

you might want to have a look at the document "Getting started with MTEX for EBSD analysis" by Jessica Hiscocks and Ralf Hielscher. You can download it here:

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/314280728_Getting_started_with_MTEX_for_EBSD_analysis

Of course, you can do other stuff besides EBSD with MTEX but no matter your interests, the guide is a handy way to get acquainted with the basic functions and workflow.

BR, Tuomo
