Hi All,

 I know MTEX can plot the GND distribution along grain boundaries using calcGND.m. Is there a chance to investigate the GND distribution within grains in a whole EBSD area including 20-30 grains.

Best wishes

Dikai

Hi Dikai,
the output of calcGND will have the same length as your input ebsd,so you can directly plot it with your ebsd, but there is nothing about a GND along grain boundaries.
Cheers,

Hi Rüdiger,

Thanks for you reply.

I cannot get the GND distribution within grain interiors. I used  the following codes:

ebsd = ebsd('Magnesium');

ebsd = ebsd.gridify;

gnd = calcGND(ebsd)

plot(ebsd,gnd).

One of the attached is orientation map, while the other is the GND map. My EBSD data were collected by conventional EBSD rather than HR-EBSD.
Is there any thing wrong?

Best wishes

Hi Rüdiger

Further to my last post, I added a KAM map by using Channel 5 EBSD software. The KAM map shows the strain distribution within grains is not uniform, why it is not reflected in the GND map?

Look forward to your reply

Best wishes

Dikai

Hi,

finally GND computation is done right in MTEX. Checkout

Ralf.
