how to plot GND density distribution map using MTEX

I am using MTEX to analyse GND density and run the  GND_demo successfully.  now, i would like to plot the GND density distribution, but i don't know how to get it.

A map in reference paper is attached here. I hope to get the similar one.

have a look at the Matlab functions hist or histogram.
