EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Engineering Professionals develop, specify or support software applications (aka EDA tools) to be used in controlled methodology flows to create integrated circuits. These tools are the basis for flows and sub flows for: logic partitioning and synthesis; chip placement and routing; design closure; design for manufacturing, timing signoff and analysis; chip design for test; packaging; design data management; and verification.

ISTL-ESD (India Systems Technology Lab – Enterprise System Development) group in IBM is research and development group to build semiconductor technology and hardware (for delivering High Performance Microprocessors and System ASICs Chips). This unit consists of Technology and Manufacturing group, EDA Tools and Methodology Development group, Chip Design (Microprocessor and ASIC) group. India EDA Development team works with Global EDA Development and Research teams to roll out tools and methodologies needed to facilitate the design process at advanced technology nodes. You will be working in EDA Development group of ISTL-ESD lab.

Role / Responsibility:

• This position is required in the team which is responsible for delivering tools and methodologies for chip designs.
• You need to be able to understand chip design flow (in one of the area like Physical Design, DFT, Verification, Signoff Flows).
• The job would require you to benchmark multiple tools and methodologies to be able to develop and deploy new flows.
• You need to be well versed with programming (C/C++) or scripting languages (Perl/Tcl) to be able to develop best in class tools/methodologies for chip design flow.
• Proven fundamentals in Digital / Circuit Design is preferred.

Skills:
• C++ programming, VLSI Design/Flow

Experience : 4-10 years. Required
  • Master's Degree
  • At least 4 years experience in C++ programming, algorithms, STL, data structures, Object oriented programming,VLSI Design flow and verification flow/tools knowledge
  • English: Fluent
Preferred
  • Doctorate Degree in Engineering
